The Venise Briarde
Our region has many treasures. Crécy-La-Chapelle and its surroundings are part of it. A stone's throw from Mickey Mouse is the magic of a small French village that inspired famous painters like Toulouse-Lautrec, Corot, Van Gogh or André Dunoyer de Segonzac and others less known.
Crécy-La-Chapelle is a small medieval town protected by canals, towers and bridges levis.
The city was built in a curve of the Grand Morin (small river tributary of the Marne) whose course was modified in the Middle Ages to form 3 channels that surround the city and thus constitute a French version of Venice.
You can walk along the small canals of the Grand Morin. You will discover one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic churches in Ile de France.
